From a number to a useful question
Compare the start and end of a period. New subscriptions and cancellations explain the difference.
Choose a channel and look at its subscribers, payments and cancellations together.
Change the period and open the weekly table. Every part of the calculation is there.
Clear definitions
See subscriptions, payments and cancellations, with a weekly breakdown.
Subscriptions still active at the end of a period. Opening balance + new subscriptions − cancellations.
Payments collected during the period. Each payment for a new subscription or renewal in this model is $24. This is neither MRR nor profit.
Subscriptions closed during the period. In this simplified model, a cancellation immediately removes a subscription from the active base.
Each subscription keeps its original acquisition channel. Reactivations, refunds and taxes are outside this example. Every filter uses the same set of sample data.
A useful starting point
Period and channel filters update the metrics, chart and table together.
From four to twelve weeks: follow the overall pattern and inspect each week’s figures.
Expand the table to trace the summary back to the underlying values.
The sample data is already here. Explore without an account or a service connection.
